  	It is commonly recorded that William died in 1727. This can not be substantiated for the following reasons: 1) William Bridger's Will in 1730 was witnessed by both William Crumpler Senior and William Crumpler Jnr. As at that time William Crumpler Jnr was surely the William born c 1700 to William and Elizabeth nee Raiford , then the William Crumpler Snr would have been his father i.e. the original William. 2) even more compelling is the evidence of the Deed in 1740 whereby William Crumpler(Snr) conveyed 270 acres to Joseph Vick. This Deed specifically states that said William is the one who received the 270 acres by patent in 1714 and the said William Crumpler's wife Elizabeth relinquished her right of dower over the land. It now evident that William Snr died in 1750 at age 91. I offer sincere thanks to Garth Matthews of Southampton for this enlightening information.
