At school at Blackford then Crieff Academy then Peterhead Academy. University at Aberdeen MB ChB 1932, DOMS London 1942. Clinical & Refraction assistant Glasgow Eye Infirmary 1937. Royal Army Medical Corps 1943 - 1946 in Egypt & west Africa (Goldcoast (Baden Town?) Ghana, Freetown Sierra Leone and Nigeria). Moved to Inverness in 1949 and was Consultant Ophthalmologist in Northern region Hospital Board, covering the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland. Keen fisherman, golfer and flauist.
