    Burial
    • Unable (Dec 2009) to find Burial Record despite the "Father and Mother, John & Rebecca Lander" Headstone at O'Neills Point Cemetery, Bayswater. The North Shore City Records do not contain information on John Lander. The Council's website records:
"The land at O'Neill's Point Cemetery was bought from the O'Neill's family in June, 1880. North Shore City's oldest cemetery, which opened in August, 1891, was designed by John Boyland and was originally divided into three areas - unsectarian, Anglican and Roman Catholic."
The Plot lying just within the cemetery main gate would appear to indicate that a burial here was one of the cemetery's first and this could relate to John's death in 1893. Further research is required.
