703 The 1871 Census entry for Harry (age given as 17) removes the uncertainty arising from him having given his age as 23 years at the time of his marriage to Annie Hannah Crumpler in the same year (13 September 1871). Vine, Harry (I00019)

704 The 1891 Census records Eugenie Perrett daugh Julia Smith resident Lambeth, London Housekeeper (Dom) unemployed. bears research as this post dates birth of last child Gertrude Amy in New Zealand. Smith, Eugenie Adeline (I00052)

705 The 1956 Electoral Register has Donald Robert and Kay Mary Grantham resident at Vivary Cottage, Vale of Heath N.W.3 Borough of Hampstead.
It would seem that Donald there was a second marriage for Donald.
The Bodleian Library of Commonwealth & African Studies at Rhodes House, Oxford University has among its accruals a "Letter from Andrew K. Tibandebage who was Manager and first Headmaster of the Karagwe Secondary School, Lukajange, Tanzania, c 1977, and Chairman of its Board of Governors in 1986. The letter "with photocopies of two letters by her late husband, Donald Robert Grantham, geologist, from British Guiana and Tanganyika, 1937 and 1941, and his obituary (d 1969), were donated on 15th January 1999 by Mrs. Kay Grantham, Dorking, Surrey, 1986-1987
.." They chiefly relate to matters of health, family and economic difficulties in Tanzania.
It should be noted from Will Administration for Donald's first wife: "GRANTHAM Winifred Edith OF 151 Tulse Hill, Lambeth London S.E.2 single woman died 30 July 1951 at St Columbas Hospital Swiss Cottage London N.W.3 Probate London 12 October to Leonard George Vine Headmaster. Effects &171 5s. 5d." that she is cited as a single woman and that Leonard George Vine is a brother.
Examination of Electoral Registers shows that Winifred resided alone under the name Winifred Grantham from at the earliest, 1934 at Fernside, Reigate, Surrey and then from 1945 at 151 Tulse Hill, Lambeth, the address in the Probate notice.
The last record that can be found with Winifred in the company of Donald Grantham is an arrival at Southampton from New York abosrd "Europa" 22 October 1936. Their proposed address while in the UK is given as Carrickfergus, Deepdene Ave, Dorking which is the same address given for an arrival from Beira, Tanganyika alone on the Mantola, 16 November 1939 for which she had departed 30 April 1938.
The earliest record found with Kay "Grantham" in the company of Donald is a shipping arrival at Plymouth 22 March 1948 from Biera on the Modassa, with UK address given as 18 Deepdene Ave, Dorking. This may of course been "Carrickfergus". Interestingly Kay's occupation is given as "Farmer" which may indicate some length to residence and family ties in Tanganyika.
I have not as at June 2014 been able to discover documentation of a divorce of Winifred and Donald.

713 The Roll of Early Settlers & Descendents in the Auckland Province prior to the end of 1852 (held in the Auckland City Library records "Lander, Mrs J., nee Rebecca Ann Berry, 1829-1906 as having arrived on the Rectus, Kororareka 1839" This person is certainly our subject but there another Rebecca BERRY recorded in the same publication as having arrived on the Venturess 1837. This person needs to be verified as not a subject for our Family Tree.
Rebecca's Death Registration shows "If issue living, state Number, Age, and Sex" - 3 males 56 46 41 5 Females" Note: This could relate to John Christopher Lander b. 1850, Sarah b 1852 and Mary Anne b 1855 thus missing other males b. 1860 and 1865 and 3 Females.

727 Unable (Dec 2009) to find Burial Record despite the "Father and Mother, John & Rebecca Lander" Headstone at O'Neills Point Cemetery, Bayswater. The North Shore City Records do not contain information on John Lander. The Council's website records:
"The land at O'Neill's Point Cemetery was bought from the O'Neill's family in June, 1880. North Shore City's oldest cemetery, which opened in August, 1891, was designed by John Boyland and was originally divided into three areas - unsectarian, Anglican and Roman Catholic."
The Plot lying just within the cemetery main gate would appear to indicate that a burial here was one of the cemetery's first and this could relate to John's death in 1893. Further research is required.
