508 Other public family trees give a birthdate of 1771 for John Chalmers. It can be safely assumed that 1771 is a calculation based on Census data. The 1851 Census however varies and gives John Senior's age as 84 which calculates an estimated birth year of 1767 which I believe is nearer a correct date.
This can be substantiated by the Tarves Parish record which contains an entry dated 12 September 1768 "William Chalmers in Tarves had a child baptised named John before the congregation".
It would appear that the confusion is with another John Chalmers, christened 3 January 1772; parents Alexander Chalmers, Wright and Margaret Craig his spouse.
The fact that none of the public trees has been able to name William as the father of John also substantiates that the Census records have been relied upon to calculate a birth date.

Chalmers, John (I00942)

509 Paddy's Marriage Certificate and some other documents such as Census and Migration to USA show his Birth Place as Waterville, Limerick, Ireland whereas his Death Certificate shows it as Waterville, County Kerry Ireland. I have recorded "Limerick" as being correct.

520 Parish Register, No 964, Page 121. No Father named. "Son of Elisabeth NEWDICK".
We do know however that the Father Married Elisabeth Newdick as Christopher Christmas UNDERWOOD on 6 June 1822, St Nicholas, Kings Lynn, Parish Register page 171, number 512.
The reason for no male surname being given could possibly relate to doubt about the correct name - Berry (Foster family) or Underwood (Birth family) - or CCB might have been at sea.

528 Patricia Vredenbreght in a letter penned c1990 (http://genealogy.bobvine.gen.nz/documents/PatsLetter5pages.pdf) states: "There was a lot of scandle (sic) when Sydney married in East Africa. I destroyed the paper and cuttings about it when I cleared things after my parents passed on as I told Uncle Edgaronly innocent people (namely the children) could be hurt by it".
Further controversy surrounds Sydney'd third marriage to Winifred Carola Elizabeth Noel in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia on 26 November 1959. "Chongololo2011" in a note to me via Ancestry.com states: "With regards 'scandal' we would only know as/if it related to his late life marriage to my ggm. My mother does remember him , and she says at the time her father and mother tried to "talk" Winifred Carola out of getting married, but she was 'determined' to. Not sure what happened to him other than possible date of passing in the late 1960s in Bulawayo."

533 Please see also Christopher Christmas BERRY, Baptised 14 January 1803, St Nicholas Chapel, Kings Lynn.
Later records, in particular that in respect of the marriage of Christopher Christmas UNDERWOOD to Elisabeth NEWDICK, 6 June 1822, St Nicholas, Kings Lynn (p 171) conclusively identifies John (Christopher) Christmas UNDERWOOD and Christopher Christmas BERRY as being the same person.
Underwood, John Christmas (I1893)

534 Please see also John Christmas UNDERWOOD, b 25 December 1796, at Norwich; Privately Baptised 08 Jan 1797, All Saints, Norwich. FreeREG transcriptions show birth date as 15 December 1796 but a closer examination of the Parish Register shows that the date could also be read as 25 December. See media item for this.
Also see entry for John BERRY, Baptised 27 Dec 1802, St Nicholas, Kings Lynn. There is room to speculate that J C UNDERWOOD above, John BERRY and Christopher Christmas BERRY relate to the same child.
Later records, in particular, those in respect of the marriage of Christopher Christmas UNDERWOOD to Elisabeth NEWDICK, 6 June 1822, St Nicholas, Kings Lynn (p 171), and subsequent Parish Register entries for their children conclusively identify John (Christopher) Christmas UNDERWOOD and Christopher Christmas BERRY as being the same person.
The only DNA connections found show that this man's Birth Mother was Elizabeth Moss Salmon.
